  • Located at Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre
  • Hourly rate up to $30 per hour + 25% casual loading + super

About the Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre  

Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre (BAROC) is located within the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) and is operated by Austin Health. About the role 

This position offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team environment and provide high-quality administration support to a growing service and region.

 

A regular day will see you:   

  • Reception duties including following accepted patient identification processes, waiting room flow management, telephone call attendance and triage.
  • Patient liaison for coordinating support services including transport, accommodation and interpreter as required.
  • Incoming and outgoing patient correspondence management (letters and appointment details).
  • Filing of results/reports into the EMR and the maintenance of filing/record systems within Radiation Oncology.
  • Referral management- Assisting with referral triage, updating patient records with details of referring doctors and medical tests (e.g. imaging, pathology etc.).
  • Supporting billing process by ensuring compliance with Medicare requirements (i.e. Medicare assignment forms are complete for eligible patient, compliance with Medicare coding/rules).
  • Contribute to a team environment, which promotes a positive culture, opportunity for learning and development, safety and welfare of employees and patients.
  • Liaise with clinical staff both inside and outside of BRICC/BAROC to provide optimum service delivery.

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:

  • Previous experience in a customer or patient-facing role.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a professional rapport with patients and staff to facilitate the provision of high-quality, safe, and ethical patient care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sound computer skills, including accurate typing, clinical information systems, experience with a Microsoft Office software suite
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
