About the department
Austin Radiology Department provides services to patients of Austin Health and the surrounding community. These include but are not limited to X rays, Ultrasounds, MRI scans, CT scans and surgical procedures.
The Molecular Imaging and Therapy Service comprises all Nuclear Medicine modalities and embraces the Bone Densitometry service located at the Repatriation campus. The breadth of Nuclear Medicine services is extensive and includes an on-site Cyclotron with comprehensive Radiochemistry and radio-pharmaceutical production facilities. Both departments have strong research involvement with close associations with the Olivia Newton John Cancer Research Institute.
About the role
The Billing Officer role provides professional, efficient, patient focused billing support within the Radiology and Molecular Imaging and Therapy Departments, working as an effective member of the team and contributing to the provision of high-quality billing services.
A regular day will see you:
- Processing routine patient billing transactions, inclusive of TAC and WorkCover
- Checking and validating patient billing records, correcting data and following up with internal and external departments for correct information as required
- Monitoring the reports of validated scans ready for billing
- Utilising Austin Health computer systems, including RIS, patient database, Medtrak, Cerner and Healthlink
