About the Pharmacy department

The Pharmacy Department Mission Statement is: Working together to provide optimum pharmaceutical care.

Comprehensive pharmacy services are provided at the two main sites of Austin and Repatriation hospitals and also to Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre.  Pharmacy staff participate in a coordinated work team via a roster system, and they work at different sites (as needed) in order to provide an integrated, high quality service to all pharmacy department customers.

Our philosophy is to foster a learning environment and to promote teamwork as the best method to deliver day to day services, for both our consumers and staff members.  A priority for all pharmacy staff members must be to use every available opportunity to demonstrate the value of the pharmacy services to our consumers. 

 

About the role

This leadership position is responsible for the co-ordination, provision, and review of pharmacy services to the Better at Home acute program at Austin Health as well as providing operational support to Better at Home subacute. This position is a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract that is open to job share.

 

About you

You will be someone who has an excellent ability to communicate effectively, have demonstrated teamwork and show a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. To be successful for this role, you require:

  •          Advanced clinical pharmacy knowledge and competence, including (but not limited to) geriatric and/or rehabilitation medicine;
  •          Proven ability to identify, prioritise and solve problems;
  •          Postgraduate qualifications relevant to this role.
