About the Finance Department
The Finance Department provides services covering FP&A, incorporating budgeting and financial analysis, Financial Accounting, incorporating Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable (patient billing and sundry debtors); Private Practice administration, Cash Management and Investments. The total revenue of the hospital is approximately $1.3 billion per annum. The Finance Department is currently located in Heidelberg within the vicinity of Austin campus.
About the role
As the Assistant Financial Accountant, reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will prepare of general ledger transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, assist with treasury and capital functions, financial reporting and year end preparation. You will support the team’s drive for a strong financial control culture through partnership and evaluation.
A regular day will see you:
- Manage master file data such as the fixed asset register including acquisition and disposal tracking
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations including reconciliation of sub ledgers
- Liaise and providing support to internal stakeholders
- Assist with monthly, statutory and external reporting
- Provide support during internal and external audits
About you
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, business, finance, or accounting
- Demonstrated 2 years+ experience in a similar role
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Sound analytical skills, ability to interpret data and problem solve
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and contribute effectively as a team member within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Work towards becoming a CPA / CA
