About the Supply Department
Supply Department is responsible for running procurement activities, making purchases on behalf of the Health Service and includes managing contracts and suppliers, forecasting, managing inventory and warehousing, transport and customer service. The department supplies all medical, surgical and general supplies in an efficient and error free environment meeting all applicable standards.
About the role
As the Advanced Storeperson, you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, who are passionate about providing best practice care for patients. You’ll enjoy our continuing education and quality improvement strategy, which is developed through leadership forums and committees. You’ll join a friendly and supportive team who genuinely enjoy their work and the contribution they make.
A regular day will see you:
- Liaise with stores staff and professionals and collaborate with multiple teams across the division
- Facilitate a coordinated approach to total service management by working with other team members
- Participate in continuing education and training activities including new project/business
- Pick, pack and distribute stores stock including medical consumables, domestic products, grocery items and printed matter
- Drive the Supply delivery truck or Van safely to the various Austin Health sites to deliver stock and non-stock items to Wards and Departments and other locations as directed
- Competently operate a forklift and other supply manual handling equipment ensuring safe work practices
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in Customer service. You’ll bring energy and drive to you work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- 5+ years medical stores experience
- Experience in a large service environment
- Experience in handling and distributing of goods
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and interpersonal skills
- MR truck licence and forklift driver’s license (mandatory for both)
- Ability to communicate and develop working relationships on all levels
- Commitment to provide a quality customer service
