About the Emergency Department

The Emergency Department is committed to providing the highest level of care for our patients.  In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The Emergency Department has over 89,000 presentations a year, making it one of Victoria's busiest Emergency departments.

 

About the role

We have 2 permanent, part time positions available for individuals with experience in customer service, and administration duties to join our Emergency Department.

 

This is a customer service focused role, and the shifts cover afternoon and night shift including weekends. We are a 24/7 department and availability and flexibility for all hours are essential for this role.

 

You will be the first point of contact for patients. The administration team supports all other clinical teams in the department. This includes our Short Stay Observation Unit, and Paediatrics. We also provide broader support across the hospital including inpatient ward admissions, transfers, and discharges.

 

About you

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to you work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.

 

You’ll further have:

  • Ability to use initiative and work autonomously and in a team
  • Ability to problem solve in a variety of complex situations
  • Excellent computer skills and a willingness to learn new applications
  • Sound administrative skills
  • Understanding of commitment to patient confidentiality
  • Experience working in a high volume, busy, environment
