About ACTER
The Australian Centre for Transplantation Excellence and Research (ACTER) is a multi-year initiative positioning Austin Health as a national leader in transplantation care, innovation, and research. ACTER brings together cutting-edge clinical practice, operational excellence, research, and consumer engagement to transform lives through advanced transplantation and holistic care.
About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join ACTER as Innovation and Integration Manager. This pivotal role will drive strategic projects, innovation initiatives, and research integration activities that support ACTER’s vision and goals.
You will work closely with the ACTER Director, transplant stream leads, the Transplant Manager, and Austin Health’s executive team to deliver projects such as:
- Development and integration of machine perfusion programs
- Planning for infrastructure and capital initiatives
- Strengthening collaboration across transplant streams and multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting ACTER’s research agenda and education events
- Facilitating external engagement with government, industry, and funding bodies
- Contributing to digital innovation projects and philanthropic initiatives
This is a fixed-term, part-time position (32 hours/week) for 24 months based primarily at Austin Hospital.
About you
You will be someone with exceptional communication, collaboration, and organisational skills, and a passion for innovation in healthcare. You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience in project management, change leadership, and innovation delivery (preferably in healthcare or research)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of contemporary health services and operational frameworks
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands
Desirable:
Experience supporting research projects, grant applications, or digital innovation initiatives. Familiarity with transplantation is advantageous but not essential.
