Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our goal to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.

About the Pain Medicine Department

Pain Medicine sits under the Department of Anaesthesia. Pain Medicine is involved in the assessment and treatment of acute pain, chronic pain, transitional pain, and cancer pain. The service operates across all campuses of Austin Health, accepting referrals from within Austin Health, and externally from the community.

The Pain Service allows exposure to Cancer Pain through links with the Austin Palliative Care Unit in the Olivia Newton John Cancer Centre providing further education opportunities. The Pain Service aims to improve knowledge and competence in the management of pain by health professionals outside the Pain Service through teaching and training other health care providers.

About the role

The Pain Fellow position is a mixture of inpatient and outpatient based services across Austin campuses. As such, the appointee may be required to travel between sites in the execution of clinical duties. This is a fixed term 12 month position for 43 hours per week from February 2027. Both full time and part time applicants are considered.
